Hiroko Tanaka, PhD is a Clinical Assistant Professor of Pediatrics and Psychiatry at the University of Arizona College of Medicine-Tucson and a staff pediatric neuropsychologist at Banner Children's Diamond Children's Medical Center. She completed an APA-accredited internship at the Barrow Neurological Institute at Phoenix Children’s Hospital, and received her PhD in Clinical Psychology from Palo Alto University. Subsequently, she completed her two-year pediatric neuropsychology fellowship at Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta / Emory University (an APPCN member program). She primarily aides children with learning differences, neurodevelopmental disorders, and acquired brain injury. Her work empowers parents to maximize their child’s potential by understanding their child as a whole (both strengths and weaknesses) and providing personalized recommendations for how their child can use strengths to best address challenges.
