The University of Arizona Department of Pediatrics considers the applications of International Medical Graduates. Educational Commission for Foreign Medical Graduates (ECFMG) certification is REQUIRED for ranking.
Answers to some commonly asked questions:
- USMLE Score Requirements: We do not
have a minimum passing score requirement for USMLE. However, a maximum of two (2) attempts to pass any of the steps is required.
- Medical School Graduation Date: Maximum of five (5) years since completing either medical school or a training program.
- Visa sponsorship: J1 (sponsored by ECFMG) is available. We do not sponsor H1 or H1B visas.
- Clinical Experience: U.S. clinical experience is not required but strongly encouraged.
- Pre-match positions: We do not offer pre-match positions.
- Observerships: Observerships are not offered at this institution.
- ECFMG certification: ECFMG certification is required in order to be considered for ranking.
Please keep in mind that our Selection Committee considers the ENTIRE application when selecting candidates to interview!
