Kids of Steele, the family auxiliary of the University of Arizona Steele Children’s Research Center, will host its “Sixth  Annual Mini Golf Event” at Golf N’ Stuff, Sunday, Oct. 23, from 4 -8 P.M.

Kids of Steele is comprised of local families who want to teach their children about service and kindness, while raising awareness and funds for the UA Steele Center.

The event is presented by VIP Mortgage – The Sundt Team.

“The event’s theme this year is ‘Hopes and Dreams,’” said Jenny Horn, Kids of Steele event chair. “We are promoting the idea that with community support we can use research and advanced medical treatments to dream big and fulfill the ‘hopes and dreams’ of patients and their families.”

In addition to miniature golf, kids and their families will enjoy bumper boats, go-karts, laser tag, batting cages and arcade games. Face painters, balloon artists and service projects for children to help patients also will be available. The University of Arizona Beach Volleyball Team will be joining Kids of Steele members and supporters to help attendees make snack packs and “dream boxes” to give to patients. They will also participate in the “Dunk for Dana” dunk tank, sponsored by Huber CPA. “Dunk for Dana” is in honor of Dana Morgan, a patient who lost her battle with leukemia.

In the Southern Arizona Endodontics Food Pavilion, food will be provided by LeRua’s Fine Mexican Food, Sauce Pizza and Wine, Brother John’s BBQ and Frost Gelato.

Funds raised from the event will be used for “greatest-need” projects at the UA Steele Center and Kids of Steele service projects, such as providing breakfast and afternoon snacks to outpatients at the Angel Wing for Children with Diabetes and the pediatric hematology-oncology clinics at Banner – University Medical Center Tucson.
