Dr. Jennifer Andrews Appointed Assistant Professor, Division of Genetics and Developmental Pediatrics

Jennifer Andrews, PhD, has been appointed assistant professor inthe Division of Genetics and Developmental Pediatrics in the University of Arizona Department of Pediatrics.

She earned both an MBA and PhD (Family and Consumer Science) from the University of Arizona.

Dr. Andrews teaches students and professionals of all levels who are interested in performing research activities; serves on dissertation committees and assists in translational research that links public health, basic science and clinical science approaches to research in novel and trending research areas.

As a faculty member of the Arizona Leadership Education in Neurodevelopmental Disabilities (ArizonaLEND) program, Dr. Andrews provides research training and guidance on grant writing that prepares the next generation of policy makers, faculty members, clinicians and researchers to lead the maternal and child health workforce.

In addition, Dr. Andrews collaborates with physician-scientists from the UA Steele Children’s Research Center in the areas of developmental and behavioral pediatrics, pediatric and adult congenital heart defects, Duchenne and Becker muscular dystrophy, adolescent medicine, and health disparities. She also collaborates with the Arizona Department of Health Services, New York Muscular Dystrophy Surveillance Tracking and Research Network and the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention on a variety of manuscripts related to developmental disabilities.

The UA Department of Pediatrics is dedicated to teaching the next generation of pediatricians, providing outstanding clinical care to children in Tucson and Southern Arizona and conducting groundbreaking research through the UA Steele Children's Research Center.
