Briana Andres, DO

Resident Status:
PL-4 Chief Resident
Medical School:
Kansas City University of Medicine and Biosciences College of Osteopathic Medicine
Biography:
Where are you from?
Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania
What are your personal interests/hobbies?
I love just being outside! A few of my favorite things to do include running, hiking, biking, and swimming. My husband and I also enjoy exploring new cities, finding new restaurants, and cooking together.
What are your professional interests?
General Pediatrics
Why did you choose UA Peds?
The people! The residents I met at my interview dinner were kind, welcoming, and enthusiastic about the program; I remember returning to my hotel room after the dinner, immediately calling my husband and saying, "Brendan, this is the program for me <3." Brendan and I couples matched into residency so it was important for us to choose a place that we both wanted to be. It worked out because he loved the Internal Medicine Program just as much as I loved the Pediatrics Program here in Tucson!
What is your favorite thing about Tucson?
The sunshine! The amazing weather here is always a great pick me up after a long day at the hospital.
What are your non-medical goals during residency?
We want to travel to places throughout the western states that are more accessible to us now that we are no longer living on the east coast! We have made it to various cities in Utah, Colorado, and California so far, but have so many more on our bucket list!
If you could have a superpower- what would it be?
To fly! So that way I could easily travel wherever I wanted to go!
